The
only SINGLE MALT WHISKY DISTILLERY in North America!
The
Gaels, who are reputed to having invented "Uisge Beatha",
"The Water of Life", claim the Gaelic improves the
flavour of the whisky. In addition to distilling single malt
whisky, which is presently aging in oak barrels, Glenora blends
and bottles Smuggler's Cove dark, white and amber rums.
 Tours
of the distillery are available hourly for a small fee. We have
ample parking facilities and scenic grounds for all to enjoy.
Tour buses and large groups are welcome by appointment.
PROFILE
AND HISTORY
The
Glenora Inn & Distillery is located at Glenville, Inverness
County, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Glenora Distillery, with an
annual production of 250,000 litres of whisky, is the only
single malt distillery in North America. The Distillery started
production in June 1990.
Glenora
Distillery is located on a 300 acre site. The seven buildings
house malt, kiln, milling production, warehouses, bottling, and
hospitality facilities. The structures were constructed in a
traditional post and beam style, similar in nature to
distilleries found in Scotland.
The
distillery and tourism facilities were constructed during the
period 1988-1990. The current owners acquired the building in
April, 1994. The annual production capacity of 250,000 litres
can be expanded to 400,000 - 500,000 litres per annum with
reasonable additional expenditures.
Glenora
Distillery is interested in bottling for your company or
