Glen
Breton Rare Canadian Single Malt Whisky is the only single malt
whisky produced in Canada. It is produced by the traditional
copper pot stills method using only three ingredients: Barley,
Yeast and Water.
It
can not be called 'Scotch' unless it is produced in Scotland,
hence, Canadian Single Malt Whisky.

Glen
Breton Rare Canadian Single Malt Whisky - Glenora Distillery
(Canada). An aromatic whisky presenting a pleasing golden-yellow
colour highlighted with hints of amber and orange. The nose is
medium-bodied, but pleasantly fiery, offering a tight
combination of butterscotch, heather, honey and ground ginger
with elongated, wood-infused undertones.
The
flavor is light to medium-bodied with a noticeable alcohol
expression. It's creamy with a good flow of toasty wood, almond,
caramel and just the subtle suggestion of charcoal and earthy
peat. The finish lingers, ending with a quick bite of light, raw
wood. Adding a thimble full of spring water balances the initial
hit of alcohol and softens the nose by bringing forward the
fresh, fruit essence of orange, citrus and sweet grain.
The
mix also fills in the back palate by adding a stronger
impression of malt. Overall, Glenora Distillery has created a
clean, expressive eight-year-old whisky with a well-defined edge
of sophistication and an undeniable, one-of-a-kind flavour.

Tasting Tip:
The best way to discover the true flavour of a
whisky is to nose it - not taste it. While the first sip has the
tendency to stun your taste buds with its shock of alcohol, the
aroma is able to reveal all of the spirits individual
personality traits without any interference. Just give the
whisky a good swirl and breathe.

Comments of Jonathan D. Auerbach
Award-winning travel/cuisine journalist, speaker,
and Contributing Writer at Robb Report magazine:
"This
spirited malt crafted from a small distillery in the Highlands
of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia -- "New Scotland" -- earns
instant classic status. The pure waters of the distillery's
Maclellan's Brook result in an exceptionally clean, light malt.
Yet lightness in no way means lack of character or complexity.
Single malt fanciers will prize the all-around balance of this
rich yet smooth and subtle dram."
Color:
Amber Gold
Nose:
Big bouquet, fresh, warm and heather-floral
Body:
Medium
Palette: Zest of
heather-honey, assertive yet gentle in taste, slightly dry in
texture, medium depth, lots of flavor development.
Finish:
Rounded, lingering, faintly sweet, merest whisper of peat
